Kutchara is a clean, modern Shopify theme built for kitchenware, cookware, and home décor brands. It’s a fully Online Store 2.0 theme: every page is built from sections and blocks you can add, reorder, and customize in the theme editor — no code required.

1. Getting started
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Find Kutchara in Theme library, click Customize to open the theme editor (or Actions → Preview to view it first).
- Use the top bar in the editor to switch between templates (Home, Product, Collection, etc.) and edit the sections on each.
- Click Save when you’re done. Use Actions → Publish to make the theme live.
Tip: All content is edited visually in the theme editor. You don’t need to touch any code to set up the theme.
2. Theme settings (global)
Open the theme editor and click Theme settings (gear icon) at the bottom of the left panel. These apply across the whole store:
| Setting group | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Colors | Color schemes (see below) used by every section. |
| Typography | Heading and body fonts, sizes, and letter spacing. |
| Buttons | Button font, weight, text transform, and corner radius. |
| Cart | Cart type and free-shipping threshold. |
| Currency selector | Show currency/country selector for multi-currency stores. |
| Animations | Enable/disable scroll-reveal animations site-wide. |
| Collections | Default product-card and collection display options. |
| Social media | Links to your social profiles (used in the footer). |
| Favicon | The small icon shown in browser tabs. |
Color schemes
Kutchara ships with 4 color schemes (Scheme 1–4). Each scheme defines its own background, text, heading, border, and button colors — including ready-made light and dark options. Almost every section has a Color scheme setting, so you can alternate light and dark sections down a page without editing colors individually. Edit the schemes under Theme settings → Colors.
3. Templates
You can assign a template to any product or page from the theme editor (or from the product/page admin). Kutchara includes alternate product page layouts so you can choose how product media is displayed:
- Product (default) — standard gallery with thumbnails.
- Product · Media grid — media shown in a grid.
- Product · Media grid featured — a large featured image plus a grid.
- Product · Media horizontal — horizontally scrolling media.
Other templates included: Home, Collection, Collections list, Blog, Article, Cart, Search, Page, Page · About, Page · Contact, Page · FAQ, Password, 404, and Customer account pages.
4. Sections
Add sections with Add section in the editor. Highlights by category:

5. Product page blocks
Inside the product page, the Product details area is made of blocks you can add, remove, and reorder:
- Vendor, Title, Price
- Rating (shows review stars — see note below)
- Description
- Variant picker (with color/image swatches)
- Inventory (low-stock messaging)
- Buy buttons (add to cart + dynamic checkout)
- Pickup availability
- Delivery (delivery estimate and free-shipping message)
- View full details link (links to the full product page — useful on the Featured product section)
- Complementary products (with quick-buy modal)
Product ratings
The Rating block reads from your product review data (the standard reviews.rating and reviews.rating_count product metafields). Connect a review app that writes to these standard fields (for example Shopify Product Reviews or Judge.me) and stars will appear automatically. Without review data, the block stays hidden.
6. Product cards (collections & grids)
Product cards are configured under Theme settings → Collections and on individual sections. Options include:
- Image ratio and fill
- Show second image on hover
- Color/variant swatches
- Inline rating stars (off by default)
- Quick add to cart
7. Navigation & menus
- Menus: Build your menus in Shopify admin → Online Store → Navigation, then select them in the Header and Footer sections.
- Mega menu: In the Header section, set a menu item’s handle as the mega-menu trigger to show a multi-column dropdown with images.
- Search: Predictive search is built in; results appear as the customer types.
8. Recommended image sizes
For the sharpest results, upload high-resolution images (Shopify scales them down automatically):
| Use | Recommended size |
|---|---|
| Slideshow / full-width banners | 3000 × 1600 px |
| Section background (countdown, etc.) | 2400 px wide |
| Product images | 2048 × 2048 px (square) |
| Collection / promo tiles | 1200 × 1500 px |
| Logo | up to 600 px wide, transparent PNG/SVG |
Use the same aspect ratio for images within the same section for a consistent look.
9. Troubleshooting
- My ratings don’t show. You need a review app that writes to the standard product review metafields (
reviews.rating,reviews.rating_count). Add a few reviews and refresh. - A section looks empty. Make sure you’ve selected a product/collection/image in that section’s settings.
- Colors look wrong on a section. Check that section’s Color scheme setting and edit the scheme under Theme settings → Colors.
- Countdown background video won’t play. Use an MP4 and keep the file small; an image is used as a fallback when autoplay isn’t allowed.
